It Could Be Worse-Coronavirus
Today they informed us of the first Covid case in the village. This afternoon they told us there are now two. These are in the assisted living building; high risk folks. The CDC came in and everyone is isolated, no visitors at all.
This is a senior village and half the folks are frail. I’m not and I wish I could do something to help. I share my artwork in the lobby and make people laugh and that’s all I can do. My son Robert called and I explained that the folks are scared, facing death and can’t even say goodbye to their loved ones. “That’s about as bad as it gets,” I said.
He: No, it could be worse.
Me: How?
He: They could be burned to death with everyone standing around cheering.
Me:…including their loved ones! Yeah, that would be worse.
I told my buddies who gather in the garden and they laughed. So, mission accomplished for today.

Just finished “Hope” painting. I shall varnish it and hang it in the lobby.
