Painting Our Mood

Painting Moods

I started this thing two weeks ago, when I was in a bad mood. I had a major heartbreaking disappointment and I wanted to distract myself so I painted this beach scene (24 X 36) with ugly threatening tree roots.

Then I started feeling more like my optimistic self, so I painted out the tree roots and made some driftwood. Then I recovered and added gallardia, amazing, colorful little flowers that survive in harsh beach conditions.

Then I realized that when a mother takes a walk with their baby, the baby sees a flower and picks it (badly, no stem) and gives it to his mommy. Why? Nobody tells a baby to do that. They just do it. And that’s kind of amazing, don’t you think?
