How is your week going? Good, I hope.

I get ideas like popcorn pops, and only about half of them are good ideas. I had an idea to make a shower stall when I took out the old one, cuz it was leaking. Hey, could I stucco and waterproof the walls? Could I use marine paint and make a shower that looked like a Polynesian waterfall?
As it turns out, according to the experts, it is so hard to waterproof a shower that I gave up. One sneaky leak and the floor rots out from under your feet. Better leave that one to the pros. I thought.
Alas, I noticed signs of leaking in the other shower, too. Imagine my surprise when I removed that slap-on plastic stuff and found the builder never waterproofed the joints. As I tore stuff up I was horrified at the sloppy workmanship. Who built this house? They’re fired.
Since I can hardly do a worse job, I’m experimenting with various materials and waterproofings to fix the shower. Then I noticed the floor looks really crappy. In fact, to me it looks like an empty canvas waiting for a painting. What? Paint a floor?
Yes. I painted rocks on the kitchen floor, sealed it and it looks cool. For a bathroom? How about moss? I’ll let you know how that works. 🙂
