We had a great time at the art class I teach called “Fine Arts for Adults Who want Their Crayons Back” We made Folk Art Rooster and discussed folk art from around the world.
But one young woman was going wacky at the end of the table.
Me: “Uh…that’s different.”
She: “Hey! You say be creative. I’m making art,” she said, scrubbing away furiously.
Me: “By all means.”
Other student: “Do you hate poultry by any chance?”
She: “I have chicken phobia.”
Me: “Fear of chickens, that’s a thing?”
She: “Yes! Do you know what a chicken would do to you if it was thirty feet tall?”
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Fear of chickens is a thing. It’s called Alektorophobia.
She called her painting Rooster Apocalypse. He is standing on the smoking ruins of the world he has just conquered.
Kewl. 🙂
