Hammock-painting by Je’ Czaja
My internet went down last night, so I told the computer to defrag itself and went to sleep. This morning the internet returned and I discovered I had a “like” on the blog. I thought, “How nice, someone liked me while I was sleeping.”
This thought triggered a memory. My Pop used to check on us five kids before he went to bed. It was usually just a quick peek in the door. Now and then, however, he stood in the doorway for a long time. I would semi-wake up; you know what I mean. “Why is Pop just standing there?” my awake brain began to ask, threatening to take over my sleepy brain. Then the door would close again.
Parents know what Pop was doing. He was liking me while I was sleeping. 🙂
The Hammock is from The Magic Barn, vol 2 available on Amazon
